Alexander Road – Princeton, NJ NJDOT
This project included the demolition and replacement of the Alexander Road Bridge over the D & R Canal in Princeton, NJ for the NJDOT. Anselmi & DeCicco employs many of our capabilities on projects such as these.
- Demolition and removal of existing bridge.
- Relocation of existing utilities and installation of new utilities.
- Installation of temporary sheeting and cofferdams.
- Construct new bridge including pilings, footings, abutments, deck and historical wood facade.
- Engineering better and safer means of construction without disrupting water flow.
Unusual Challenges:
Demolish existing bridge and install steel sheeting and cofferdams in and around the canal without disrupting water flow.
- Build a new bridge from the footings up including a special wood facade to maintain the historic look of the area.
- Repair any disturbed areas in and around the canal.
Unique Solutions:
Anselmi & DeCicco used value engineering, specific equipment and various materials to change and improve the construction methods of this project.
- This provides a better end product, reduces employee exposure to the dangers of working in & around water, and minimizes disturbance to the existing area.
